Ready to adopt?
Please read the
following information.
All incoming foster animals receive complete
veterinary care and are adopted only after they are determined to be healthy.
Medical and known behavioral histories of each foster pet are discussed in
detail with prospective new owners. LIFE Animal Haven volunteers provide advice
and consultation to ensure the adjustment of the pet to the new home. When
circumstances make it impossible for a pet to remain with the adopting family,
it is required that the LAH be notified and allowed to reclaim the pet. Adoption
fees are charged not to cover each pet's expenses, but to help offset them.
Adopting an animal is a
big decision!
When making the decision to adopt a pet, keep in
mind the life-long responsibilities and financial aspects:
- Routine veterinary care and occasional
emergencies
- High quality pet food to maintain your pets
health
- Routine Grooming
- Boarding or in-home care when you are not home
- Fencing, dog houses, litter boxes, toys,
treats, etc.
There is a desperate need to eliminate the
"disposable pet mentality" from our society. We need to teach our
children, by our example, to to care for and love their furry family members.
LIFE Animal Haven believes that many of the problems involving stray animals can
be eliminated if responsible pet owners will spay/neuter their pets. All
pets adopted from LIFE Animal Haven will be neutered at the time of adoption, or
must be neutered by their adoptive owners. We are advocates of early
spay/neuter. Call
anytime for low cost spay/neuter information.

diseases)
- Vaccination against
Feline Panleukopenia (distemper), Rhinotracheitis, Chlamydia, Calici virus
and Rabies
- Fecal exam and/or

PLEASE NOTE:
- All foster animals come to us from
undesirable situations. Many were strays or rescues from animal shelters
that must euthanize animals. If attempting to place a personal pet, we will
be glad to offer advice and refer prospective owners to you, but our foster
space is limited and needs to be used for those animals most in need.
- We do not buy and sell pets.
- The adoption donations that we receive in no
way cover our expenses. The cost of housing, food and veterinary care are
offset by the generous contributions of concerned animal lovers.
- We are an all-volunteer organization. There
are no set hours for us to be available to the public. We fit this in with
our jobs and families. Please be patient if you call.
